FAYETTEVILLE— Faye Swaney Southerland, 96, of Fayetteville died Nov. 19, 2005, at Fayetteville Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born Jan. 8, 1909, in St. Paul to Sam and Ida Bivens Swaney. She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and retired from teaching after 34 years in Madison and Washington county school districts. She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Henry Southerland, on Jan. 8, 1980.
Survivors include two nephews, Wade Winkle of Fayetteville and Larry Swaney of Tulsa, Okla.; and two nieces, Madeline Tribble of Fayetteville and Sandra Freeman of Tulsa.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with Jack English officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
