Bearden - Elsie Alice McWhorter, 94, of Bearden died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001. She was born August 2, 1907 in Provo, Ark. Mrs. McWhorter was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bearden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Gray McWhorter, one son, Howard Gray McWhorter and her parents, Charlie and Belle Howard. She is survived by one sister, Robbie Sikes of DeQueen; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo McWhorter of Bearden; three grandchildren, Stephen Gray, Natalie Doan and Mike McWhorter, and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bearden or to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday at Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
