SPRINGDALE — Harold C. "Preacher" High, 92, of Springdale passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born April 1, 1922, in Springdale to William Daniel and Lillian Ann Webb High.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a former president of the Springdale Lions Club. He served on the Springdale City Council. He was an avid gardener and beekeeper. He was a member of Cross Church of Springdale where served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aileene High; one great-grandson, Peyton Thomas; six brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Rick High and wife, Pam, of Springdale, and Wray High and wife, Kathy, of Springdale; one daughter, Linda Warner and husband, John, of Springdale; 10 grandchildren, Kerry High and wife, Genia, Jeremy High and wife, Maria, Kristy High, Laurie Knight and husband, Brandon, Candice West and husband, Jason, Aaron High and wife, Kari, Holly Thomas and husband, Jason, and Whitney Baccus and husband, Stephen, Chance and Dr. Tuesday Warner; 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will he Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the beginning of the service.
