JOHNSON, David A. - After several months illness David A. Johnson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Winnie Robbins, in Bentonville Thursday morning, March 12, aged 69 years, three months and five days. Mr. Johnson was born on Pea Ridge, east of Bentonville, Dec. 7, 1855 and lived the greater part of his life in this section where he was widely known and respected. In 1886 he was married in Stone county to Miss Ellen Trimble who now survives him. He had always been a farmer and only gave up his farm work and farm home a few months ago, being overtaken by ill health, and with Mrs. Johnson moved to Bentonville to make their home with their daughter, whom death some months ago had deprived her of her husband, the late Albert Robbins. For many years he had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter, Theo Johnson, and Mrs. Winnie Robbins, both of Bentonville, two brothers, Armstrong (Tube) Johnson, Bentonville and John Johnson, Rogers, other relatives and many friends. Another daughter, Miss Nola Johnson, died several years ago. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church Friday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.A. Fortune, and interment will be in the Buttram Chapel cemetery near Pea Ridge.

Mrs. A.R. McClure, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Fawver and T.L. Trimble returned to their home in Seligman, Mo. after attending the funeral of their brother-in-law and uncle, D.A. Johnson.
