Area funeral director dies
Ortus Edward McKinney, 71, of Rogers, prominent Benton County funeral director for over 20 years, died Sunday evening at the Bates Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 9, 1903, in Gentry.
He lived his entire lifetime in Benton County and was a licensed mortician and funeral director for the A. B. Callison Co. in Bentonville and Rogers. He also worked for the Rogers Daily News and the Press Publishing Co. before retiring in 1964. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by five brothers, Fred McKinney of Siloam Springs, Carl McKinney and Frank McKinney, both of Bentonville, Myrle McKinney of Fayetteville and Earl McKinney of Tulsa, Okla.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Callison and McKinney Funeral Chapel in Bentonville with the Rev. Sam Teague officiating. Burial will be in the Barron Cemetery.

Bentonville — Mrs. Beth Henderson McKinney, 63, of Rogers, died at the Rogers hospital Tuesday. She was born in the Vaughn community, was a member of the Methodist Church, and a retired school teacher.
Survivors are her husband, 0. E. McKinney of the home; one sister, Mrs. Isabell Koons of Bentonville and two brothers, Harley and Howard Henderson, both of Vaughn.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Callison-McKinney Chapel with burial in Barron Cemetery.
