Mrs. Ortus McKinney Killed; Husband Injured

Fort Smith, Ark., Jan. 27-(AP)- Mrs. Ortis McKinney of Rogers, Ark. was killed and her husband injured shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon in an auto accident at Brownlee's Corner, three miles east of Van Buren on U.S. Highway 64=71.

Rogers Woman Killed in Highway Crash

Mrs. O. E. McKinney, 31 years old, was killed and her husband seriously injured in a highway accident near Van Buren Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred when a truck drove out in front of the McKinney sedan, making a collision unavoidable. Mrs. McKinney suffered a broken neck and died before she reached the hospital. Her husband was also taken to the hospital where it was found he had a broken breastbone, three broken ribs and a bruised heart. He was brought to Rogers by ambulance Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. McKinney is associated with the Callison funeral home in Rogers. He and his wife have both been active in church end civic affairs.

Resides her husband, Mrs. McKinney is survived by her mother, six brothers and two sisters. Funeral service was conducted this (Thursday) afternoon with burial in the Rogers cemetery.
