KINTA, Okla. — Marvin R. Cloud of Kinta, Okla., passed away Friday, May 7, 2010, at his home at the age of 72. Marvin was born Sept. 29, 1938, in New Deal, Texas, to Floyd and Razzie (Threet) Cloud.

He grew up near Lubbock, Texas, and joined the U.S. Army in 1956 as paratrooper for the 82nd Airborne Division. On May 12, 1973, Marvin married Margaret Lorraine Yeager in Arkansas. He worked for the USDA and also as a farmer. In 1998, Marvin and Lorraine retired and moved to Wilburton, Okla. Marvin was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed riding horses, cattle and fishing. However, his greatest joy was his grandchildren; having weenie roasts and cooking out. He was a great entertainer and loved cooking for everyone. He was a giving and loving person and will truly be missed. He enjoyed entertaining and cooking for his children and grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of the home; mother-in-law, Margaret Henderson, of the home; sons, Tim Cloud and wife, Linda, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Terry Cloud and Troy Cloud, both of Centerton, Ark.; daughters, Tammie Runyan and husband, Bill, of Gentry, Ark., Gina Holt and husband, Harold, of Decatur, Ark., Tonia Birchfield and husband, James, of Bentonville, Ark., Margo Barnes and husband, Reuben, of Gravette, Ark., Showana Glasco and husband, John, of Kinta, Okla., and Shana Cloud, of Kinta, Okla.; sisters, Mary Fox, of Surgarland, Texas, Faye Wilkerson, of Lubbock, Texas, and Joann Witt, of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Tanner, Levi, Travis, Tera, Shane, Tarrah, Candy, Janelle, Matthew. Jarrod, Rachel, Candace, Kyle, Gary, Colby, Bailey, Taylor, Dylan, Lauren, Jennifer and Razzie; one great-grandchild, Jake; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd Jr. and Alfred Ray; sisters, Bobbie Turner and Janelle Cloud; and grandson, Tyler Holt.

The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the United Methodist Church, Wilburton, with the Rev. Barry Collins officiating.

The committal service will be held 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Lee Cemetery, Gravette, Ark., with the Rev. Mat Daniels officiating.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Runyan, Jarrod Runyan, Travis Cloud, Dylan Glasco, Casey Draper and Christopher Craft.

He believed strongly in education and it was Marvin's wishes that, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Marvin Cloud Memorial Scholarship fund at Wilburton State Bank in Wilburton, Okla.

Marvin said if the Lord is willing and the creek doesn't rise, I'll see you down the road.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Jones Harkins Funeral Home, Wilburton, Okla.
