BENTONVILLE — Freddie "Waldo" Lookadoo, 88, of Bentonville, passed away April 15, 2012, at Bradford House Nursing & Rehabilitation in Bentonville. He was born in Free Hill, Ark., to the late Henry and Anna (Rowe) Lookadoo.

Waldo served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Colorado and later in occupied Japan. After being honorably discharged in 1947. He married Clara "Ovella" Bray on July 1, 1948. He worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years, and upon his retirement, joined Henderson State University's custodial staff, working there for seven years.

Waldo was instrumental in forming the Clark County Babe Ruth and Senior Babe Ruth baseball leagues from 1968 to 1972. He enjoyed helping his father-in-law with the family dairy and cattle farm. He loved the outdoors, gardening and took joy in helping others.

In 1994, he and Ovella moved to Bentonville to enjoy his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of more than 63 years, Ovella Lookadoo; son, Fred Lookadoo and wife, Charlene;
grandsons, Jonathon Lookadoo, Joel Lookadoo and wife, Chantelle; brother, Oda Lookadoo of Westfield, Ohio; half sister, Ozella Faye Melugin of Hot Springs; half brother, Raymond Lookadoo of Point Cedar.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Lois Cormack, Doyle Lookadoo, Lota Cook, Edwina Cooper.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on today, April 18, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tom Hatley. Interment will follow in Bentonville Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 2555 S. 26th St., Rogers, 72758.

BENTONVILLE — Clara Ovella Lookadoo, age 83, of Bentonville passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at her home. She was born in Bismarck, Ark., on Jan. 15, 1930, to the late Lee and Dellie (Hardage) Bray.

Ovella was a graduate of Bismarck High School and sang Southern Gospel music in a girls quartet in her younger years. She sold Avon for a number of years and later worked for Malone Pharmacy in Arkadelphia. She and her husband, Waldo, moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1994 and were members of Immanuel Baptist Church where they took part in the Pathfinders Sunday school class. She was an avid walker and made many friends in Bentonville during her walks around town.

Survivors include her son, Fred Lookadoo and wife, Charlene, of Rogers; grandsons, Jonathon Lookadoo, Joel Lookadoo and wife, Chantelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Blanche; and the love of her life, her husband of 63 years, Waldo Lookadoo.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764.
