Ronald Gene “Rodney” McGowen of Norfork, Arkansas
Ronald Gene “Rodney” McGowen, son of the late Roy Lee McGowen and Elsie Mae Parnell McGowen, was born January 24, 1956 in Chelan County, Washington. He departed this life November 17, 2015 at his home in Norfork, Arkansas at the age of 59 years, 9 month and 24 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years he was employed as a commercial truck driver and heavy equipment operator in addition to being a pilot. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Jody and Dusty Light of Norfork; two daughters and one son-in-law: Andria and Clayton Moore of Norfork and Holly Jaquith of Salesville; one sister: Oleta Martin and husband Kent of Calico Rock; six grandchildren: Kasady Sutterfield, Cole Light, Mason Weiroch, Kenden Moore, Ethen Light and Kelsie Moore and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Charles Lee McGowen and Cecil McGowen.
Graveside funeral service will be Friday, November 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock with Donnie Speak officiating.
Pallbearers: Joe Light, Clayton Moore, Brnadon Martin, Burt Breedlove, Roger Hall and George Clark, Sr.
Honorary Pallbearers: Kenden Moore, Ethen Light, Cole Light and Mason Weiroch.
