TONTITOWN — Ottis Leon Harris, 87, of Tontitown, Ark. passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born on March 27, 1927 in Nail, Arkansas, a son of Claud Harris and Berslie Mae Thompson. He proudly served in the US Navy, Pacific Fleet, during WWII. He built homes and was a cabinet maker and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the House of Worship Church, the Navy Fleet Reserve and the VFW Post 2952. He retired at the age of 80 after serving 40 years in law enforcement. He established the Elm Springs Police Department. Ottis was a proud grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Faught and George Doyle Watson; three sisters, Ruth King, Viola Garrison and Teddy Faught. Ottis is survived by his wife, Carole Harris of Springdale; two children, Linda Frazier and husband Gary of Tontitown and son Charles Harris of Grants, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Matt Frazier of Dallas, Texas, Jesse Harris and Andy Harris both of Idaho; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Watson and wife Shirley, Jimmie Watson and wife Pat all of Springdale, and Ray Watson and wife Sharon of Marysville, Washington; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Mercy & Grace Cathedral in Springdale Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10 a.m.with Pastor Bill Williams and Pastor Bobby Main officiating.
