FAYETTEVILLE — Herb Pond, Sr., 77, of Fayetteville died March 20, 2005, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born May 10, 1927, in Fayetteville, the son of Horace Burney and Rhue Rebecca Stout Pond. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Trinity Temple Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors included two sons, Herbert "Butch" Pond of Fayetteville, Victor Lance White of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Becky Daniels of Springdale; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
