MIAMI, Okla. — Dorothy Jane Sharpensteen, area business woman, passed away June 30, 2014, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She was born Feb. 26, 1932, to Paul and Ethel (Shockley) Scott at Springdale, Ark.

She married Jack Sharpensteen on Dec. 24. 1953, in Anderson, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Scott Sharpensteen and wife. Kara, of Miami, Okla.; daughter, Kim Colbert and husband, Mark, of Ardmore, Okla.; two granddaughters, Kathryn (Katie) Colbert of Dallas, Texas, and Caroline Ann Colbert of Houston, Texas; brother, Paul Way Scott and wife, Frankie; sisters, Norma Jean Owen and Betty lo Scott; niece, Deboran Rogers; and sister-in-law, Judy Austin of Springdale, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Noma Starling; and brothers, Don Austin and Shockley Austin.

A private graveside family service was held in Springdale.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 4110 S. 100th East Ave., Tulsa, OK 74146.
