ROGERS — Jimmie was always a man of few words. But don't let that fool you. He had a crazy sense of humor and was quick to smile, and his infectious laugh had everyone laughing. He loved telling his stories and getting everyone to laugh at family gatherings.

Never needing much, even as a kid, he lived simple. Jimmie was a good friend to everyone. He was the guy you could call if you needed help no matter how long it had been since you saw or talked to him. He was generous to a fault. If he had a dollar, he'd give it to you. He would open the door of his home to anyone in need. Although he enjoyed solitude, he also welcomed his family and friends to visit often.

His love of the animals that roamed wild around his home brought him many smiles. He loved the TV show Mash, science fiction movies and listening to music from the 70s and 80s while drinking his Milwaukee's Best.

He was a kind and compassionate brother. His sisters that cared for him over the last few years meant the world to him. Although he probably never said it, I know he was very grateful. To the end, he still told jokes and laughed through all the pain.

Jimmie lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 3, 2015.

Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Zelma Taylor; and his brothers, Mack Taylor and Jack Taylor.

Jimmie leaves behind his daughters, Laura Holloway and Sandra Morelli; and son, James Taylor; nine grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Lola Taylor of Jonesboro, Eve Curtis of Rogers, Shirley Scates of Huntsville, Linda Adams of Rogers, Joe Taylor of Ozark, Rosie Sparks of Springdale, Stella O'Neil of Lowell, Gayle Westbrook of Spring Valley, Tommy Taylor of Bentonville, Ricky Taylor of Cave Springs, Dolly Lawson of Rogers, Hope Manwarren of Cave Springs, Tracey Taylor of Springdale.

To celebrate his life, visitation will be held at 10 a.m., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Benton Count Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers, AR 72756.

In place of flowers, please make a donation in Jimmie's name to: The Humane Society for Animals, Inc., 407 E. Nursery Road, Rogers, AR 72758.
