HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. — Thurman Clarence Stout, age 83, of Higginsville, Mo., formerly of Northwest Arkansas, died Aug. 7, 2010, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 27, 1927, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was the son of Sylvester and Lillie Skelton Stout.

Thurman was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner/operator of Ram Tech, Allied Tree Service and several other telecommunication companies. Over the years, Thurman enjoyed flying his plane, traveling, fishing, hunting, teaching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren many of his wonderful traits, and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved beagle Trixy.

He was preceded by his father, Sylvester; mother, Lillie; three brothers, Dewey Stout, Leo Stout and Burl Stout; and one sister, Bethel Sisemore.

He is survived by one daughter, Joetta Parker-Green of Tomball, Texas; two sisters, Louise Ames of Lowell and Jearlene Baker of Springdale; two grandchildren, Sheila Cotton and Todd Parker; and three great-grandchildren, Travis Cotton, Tyler Cotton and Taylor Parker, all of Tomball, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, with Gary Morris officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 10. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thurman's name to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 330, Kansas City, MO 64114; www.CrossroadsHospice.com.
