PRAIRIE GROVE - John Hudson, 80, of Prairie Grove died March 23, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born June 28, 1918, in Hennepin, Okla., to William Jackson and Ruth Marie Moxley Hudson. He served in the 137th Infantry during World War II. He was a corporal in five theaters and received the Combat Infantryman Badge, the European-African-Middle East Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars for the Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns. He was a member of Prairie Grove American Legion Post 146. He grew up in New Mexico and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1958 and was retired from Heckathorn Construction Co. He was preceded in death by one son; one granddaughter; three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Cledith Hudson, to whom he was married 59 years; five sons, Tom Hudson of Farmington, Carroll Gene Hudson of Hogeye, Steven Jay Hudson, Roy Lee Hudson and J.C. Hudson, all of Fayetteville; three daughters, Linda Trollinger of Siloam Springs and JoAnn Leeders and Beverly Leach, both of Prairie Grove; 23 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; five brothers, E.A. Hudson of Hennepin, Gene Hudson and Jack Hudson, both of Davis, Okla., Carl Hudson of Elmore City, Okla., and Bill Hudson of Canyon, Texas; six sisters, Lora Bell Williams and Patty of Davis, Ruth Edgers of Pauls Valley, Okla., Joyce Ellen of Sulphur, Okla., Essie Ball of Elmore City and Betty of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville with Cecil Sugg officiating. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery in Strickler. Pallbearers will be John Allen Hudson, Harold Happy, Scottie Hudson, Gerald Hudson, Steven Hudson and Cory Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Happy and Shane Hudson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Moore's. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

FARMINGTON — Cledith Mae Hudson, age 87, of Farmington, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in Farmington, Ark. She was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Stratford, Okla., to Charles Melton and Frances Smith Stacy.

She attended religious services at Peachtree Village for several years and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Hudson; one son, Johnny Hudson; and three grandchildren, Harold Happy, Steven Hudson, and Audrey Hudson.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Trollinger and husband, Frank, of Siloam Springs, Ark., JoAnn Leeders of Springdale, Ark., and Beverly Leach and husband, Chip, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; five sons, J.C. Hudson and wife, Dolores, of Greenland, Ark., Carroll Hudson and wife, Debbie, of Hogeye, Ark., Tom Hudson and wife, Shirley, of Farmington, Ark., Steve Hudson and wife, Rickie, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Roy Hudson of Fayetteville, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel with burial at Fall Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, Ark. Chaplain Paul Woodhouse will conduct the service.
