Andrew Glen Jones, age 94, of Prairie Grove, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 5, 2005, at Medi-Home of Prairie Grove.

He was born Feb. 1, 1911, in Strickler, the son of James and Julia Richardson Jones. Brother Glen served as a deacon for several years in Mesa, Ariz. Upon returning to Arkansas in the early 1950s, he was ordained and first pastored at Braden Church (now First Freewill Baptist) in Fayetteville. He also served in other churches in the Fayetteville area before pastoring at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Prairie Grove. He organized the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church in 1958, where he served as pastor until 1978. Following retirement, he continued to serve in various churches around Northwest Arkansas as needed. He also performed many weddings and funerals until his 86th birthday, when he felt he was called to serve in his last ministry at Medi-Homes of Prairie Grove where he ministered to his fellow residents, leading many to the Lord.

He is survived by two daughters, Betty Smith and husband Jim of Fayetteville, Glenda McMurry and her husband Mac of Prairie Grove; three grandchildren, Dean McAlister and wife Phyllis of Argyle, Texas, Angela Scott and husband Carl of Bella Vista, Trina Alaniz and husband Jeff of Springdale; one brother, Alvero Jones of Orange County, Calif.; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fall Creek Cemetery in Strickler under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel.

The Rev. Glen D. Faulkner will officiate.

Memorials may be made to New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church, 13425 Hogeye Road, WC 28, Prairie Grove, 72753.
