August 5, 1890 - October 6, 1970
Frank Anthony, 80 of El Dorado, founder of the Anthony Forest Products Company, died Tuesday in El Dorado. His death leaves only one surviving son of J. F. Anthony, whose family became one of the largest independent sawmill and timber product families in South Arkansas. The survivor is Garland Anthony of Bearden. Frank Anthony was born in Hopeville and settled in Union County in the 1930's. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Strickland Anthony; six sons, Beryl, Bruce and Aubra Anthony of El Dorado, Melvin and Clary Anthony of Lake Village; two daughters, Mrs. Sam Crawford of El Dorado and Mrs. T. F. Bullock of Shreveport, La.; also four sisters, 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in El Dorado, with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery by Youngs. (Camden News - October 7, 1970)
