W. H. "Buster" Ables, 57, of 1220 Mt. Holly St., died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital. Born Sept. 10, 1911, in Hampton, he was the son of Joe and Mary McKnight Ables. He had lived in El Dorado 30 years and was a member of the Hillsboro Street Church of Christ and was employed as a wholesale drug salesman. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Idelle Ables; three daughters, Mrs. A. J. Arnold, Trenton, Tenn., Mrs. Jimmy Johnson, Searcy, and Miss Gail Ables, El Dorado; a brother, J. E. Ables, El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. Carl Draper, Malvern, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hillsboro Street Church of Christ with Benny Bristow and Carroll Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (El Dorado Times - November 21, 1968)
