January 18, 1923 - June 28, 1965
Mrs. Betty Virginia McLendon, 42, died in her sleep at her home at Mt. Holly about 12:30 a.m. Monday. Born in Joplin, Mo., Jan. 18, 1923, the daughter of David Dixon and Mildred McRae Junkin, Mrs. McLendon had lived at Mt. Holly since 1953. She was a member of the Mt. Holly Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Saxon R. McLendon; a daughter, Katherine Mclendon; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junkin, all of Mt. Holly. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Holly Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Barton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Cemetery under the direction of Young's The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service.
