Services for Woodford A. Shipley of Mountain Home will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Shipley died Friday (Nov. 29, 2996) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 84.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Roller Funeral Home. Burial wiLl be at Conley Cemetery.
Mr. Shipley was born June 1, 1912, at Henderson, to James Woodford and Almeta Carson Shipley. He and the former Pansy Mae Moore were married July 13, 1940, at Mountain Home. Mr. Shipley was a farmer. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He helped build the Norfork and Bull Shoals dams.
He is survived by two sons, Judson Shipley and Kenneth Smith, both of Mountain Home; three daughters, Geneva Cockrum of Mountain Home, Wilma Taylor of Jerome, Idaho, and Janell Spalding of North Highland, Calif.; a brother, Orvil Shipley of Sedalia, Mo.; a sister Ella Braille of Flippin; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers; one sister; a son, Tommie Smith; and a grandson, Deon Cockrum.
