James Lee Melton, 79 of Jonesboro, Arkansas died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at home. He was born July 29, 1936 in Cord, Arkansas to Lee and Agnes Bradley Melton. He was a longtime resident of Jonesboro. He served our country in the Army and was a truck driver. He was of the Baptist belief.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Sue Brady Melton; brothers, Pete Melton and JD Melton; sister, Norma Jean Hackworth.
Survivors include his sons, Kevin Melton and wife Patty, Brian Melton and wife Libby, Barry Melton and wife Janet; sisters, Berline Steward, Willine Erwin, Masine Russell; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 03, 2015 at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge, with Keith Marlin officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 02, 2015 at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
Pallbearers: Scott Luther, Danny Melton, Gary Melton, Greg Brady, Jeff Brady, Terry Rogers.
