Olen the son of Walter Thomas and Zillah (Smith) Parrish.
Olen Parrish, 85, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Baptist East Hospital, in Memphis, Tennessee. Olen was born on November 9, 1929, in Black Rock, Arkansas, to Walter Thomas and Zillah (Smith) Parrish. Olen was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Olen is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Brenda King, and Cathy McCarty; brothers, Hubert, Malvin, Wilburn, Troy, and Neil Parrish; sisters, Gladys Parrish, Wanda Adams, Ruth Parrish, Alleta McMullen, and Louise Smith.
Survivors include, son, Gregory (Debra) Parrish, of Jonesboro; brothers, Fred (Maureen) Parrish, Lowell (Pat) Parrish, and Gerald (Rose) Parrish, all of Rockford, Illinois; sister, Mary Parrish, of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren, Chad (Trish) Parrish, of Jackson, Missouri, Courtney (Trey) Dupuy, of Jonesboro, Jimmy (Kristen) King, of Rockford, Illinois, and Michael (Nicole) King, of Rockford, Illinois; great grandchildren, Braeden, Madison, Ava, Ben, Ashlyn, Brendan, Brooklyn, and Isla.
Visitation and funeral service will both be held at the Fears Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, on Thursday, October 22, 2015. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, on Friday, October 23, 2015; Gerald Fears, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery, in Black Rock.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chad Parrish, Michael King, Jimmy King, Trey Dupuy, Mark King, and Paul Parrish.
