Robert S. Starr, 67, of Rogers died there Saturday. He was born Aug. 6, 1912 in Tower City, N.D.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a retired groceryman. He was past president of the Linton, N. Dak., Chamber of Commerce, a former mayor of both Tower City and Linton, past master of both Tower City and Linton Masonic Lodges, a member of Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite, and the El Zagal Shrine. He was a vice president of AARP in Rogers and a president commander of the American Lodge (William Batjer Post No. 100) in Rogers.

Mr. Starr is survived by his wife, Esther Starr of the home; a son, Allan Starr of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a brother, Leland Starr of Sunset, Aria. and St. Paul, Minn.; and two sisters, Charlotte Wendland of Waukesha, Wis. and Ruth Modin of Millbank, S. Dak.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Solberg officiating. Burial will be in Benton County Memorial Park under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
