"Martin M. Ollson, of Alabama Township, Nevada County, Ark., was born in Sweden, his parents being Ola Martinson Ollson and Anne Ollson, natives of Sweden, and to whom were born thirteen children, four of whom are now living, viz: Nelson, Elna, Martin M. and Jenson. Mr. Ollson came to this country when a young man, having previously worked in Denmark four years, and in Germany three years, and being for a time a sailor in the Atlantic. He first settled in America in Philadelphia, then tried New York State, near the city of Buffalo, where he engaged in farming. From that point he moved to Tennessee, in which State he married, and one year later emigrated to Louisiana. In the year 1882 Mr. Ollson came to Arkansas, locating at Fulton. He then went to Texarkana. Once more coming to Arkansas, he located this time in Nevada County, where he is devoting his attention to farming. Mr. Ollson was married in 1881 to Miss Etta Dora Gassett, who was born in 1864 in the State of Tennessee. To them have been born five children, three of whom are living at the present writing, viz: Ernest, Artir and Collie. Mr. Ollson owns about 400 acres of fine land, which are well cultivated, and in politics is a Republican."
