Robert Ellsworth Wood Jr., 74, of Greenbrier, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014. He was born Jan. 8, 1940, in Altoona, Pa., to Robert E. and Bernadine Wood. Mr. Wood served his country in the United States Army doing tours of duty in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 42 years, Carol Kathleen Wood; two sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by sons, Robert E. Wood III and his wife Regina of Greenbrier, Edward J. Wood of Greenbrier, and Richard N. Wood of Paris; daughters, Linda S. Kimberly and her husband Jim of Carthage, Texas, Jennifer K. Collins and her husband Doc of Gary, Texas, Rachel E. Wood of Greenbrier, and Rebecca V. Wood of Greenbrier. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Springhill Cemetery, with Bro.
