Jimmie W. Wilcox, 80, of Springhill, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at his home. He was born February 7, 1930, in Springhill, a son of the late Fred B. and Velma (Roberts) Wilcox. His brothers, Freddie and George Wiley Wilcox, and a sister, Joy Wilcox also preceded him in death.
Mr. Wilcox was a farmer, and had also worked in dairy farming, livestock, cotton farming, mobile home park owner/operator, and real estate. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He and Mary Joyce were married November 8, 1953.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Joyce (Newberry) Wilcox, of Springhill; sons, Wayne Wilcox and wife Jamie (Smith) of Springhill; Jim Wilcox and wife Phyllis (Cleland) of Waldron; grandchildren, Jessie Wilcox of Springhill; Amie Wilcox of Waldron; Stephen Jones and wife Ana of Rogers; one great-granddaughter, Layla Jones of Rogers; sisters, Oneida Milam of Springhill and Jewell Loveless and husband Gene of Conway.
Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Springhill Baptist Church with Bros. Ed Stephenson and Gaylon King officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Greenbrier. 501-679-2575.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Springhill Baptist Church building fund.
