Evie Marie Hall Johnson Arnold, daughter of the late John Hall and Arizona Pugh, was born Jan. 20, 1935, in Batesville, Ark. She died March 31, 2009, at her home in Franklin, Ark.
She had a 30 year career with the International Shoe Company of Batesville as an instructor. She was united in marriage to Wesley Arnold on July 6, 1984. As husband and wife, they worked another 12 years running their grocery store, Foodways Market in Horseshoe Bend.
She is survived by: her husband, Wes Arnold of Franklin; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Kathy Hall of Batesville; three step-children Steve Arnold of Scottsdale, Ariz., Julie Kent and husband, Donald of Scottsdale, Ariz., Pamela Villacres and husband Richard of Ellensburg, Wash.; five grandchildren; Erin Caddy of Sacramento, Calif., Brennen and Taylor Kent of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Aja and Talon Vallacres of Ellensburg, Wash.; one niece; and one nephew; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother; her first husband; Billy Joe Johnson; and one grand-niece; Megan Hall.
Funeral services were held  April 3 at the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church with Jerre Guthrie, Eric Ertle, Berlen Walker and Marice Walker officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Rusty Jeffery, Ronnie Jeffery, Ricky Jeffery, John Johnson, Brian Bussard and Roy Herron.
Honorary pallbearers were Aaron Bussard, Lonnie Bailey, Frankie Herron, Tony Hall, Red Lassiter, Jimmy Booth and Carl Walter Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
