Erich Henry Hartmann, 61, of Bela Vista died December 30 at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was born July 8, 1921 in Lincoln, Neb.
He was a retired accountant for the U.S. Postal Service. He moved to Bella Vista seven years ago from Lincoln. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church, past district vice commander of the Northwest Arkansas American Legion, a member of the Eagles Lodge in Lincoln and a dog-show judge for the American Kennel Club for the past 30 years.
He served as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie; two sons, Dr. Albert Hartmann of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Ronald Hartmann of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Audrey Hageman of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Delores McLafferty of Orangeburg, S.C., and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were January 3 at the Bella Vista Community Church by the Rev. Allan J. Hunter and Rev. David Noel. Burial was in the Benton County Memorial Park by Burns Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Community Church.
