David R DIXON (VETERAN UNION)

Single gravestone north of Atkins Ar Cemetery
Pope County,
Arkansas

US Army
2 Arkansas Infantry
Civil War Union
Death Date Unknown

My name is Bill E Dixon Jr. This was a government marker with a couple of mistakes. The name D R Dickson was used instead of David R Dixon and he served in the Union Army with the 2nd Arkansas infantry. The grave site is located approx. 1.4 miles north of Atkins Ar from the center of the I-40 overpass on Ar Hwy 105 on west side of the road behind a white roofed barn. The barn is just south of intersection of Hwy 105 and Hwy 247. Marker is located beside a fence row just west of the barn. This was my great grandfather.
