Martha E. Cook Vaughan, 88, of Jerusalem, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, at her home.
She was born November 30, 1924, in Appleton, to Samuel Monroe and Martha Catherine Smith Cook.
She retired from El Rancho Unified School District in Pico Rivera, California as a cook/baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ardie Hicks Vaughan; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy Lynn Vaughan Sowa of Russellville; nephew and wife, as caregivers, Kenneth and Betty Cook of Jerusalem; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Appleton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Randall Williams and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Burial will be in Appleton Cemetery.
