This community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Gertrude Turner. She is survived by four children, Lillie May, 21 years old, blind; Melvin, 19, in a CCC camp in Missouri; Delma, 11, and Dennis, nine. Melvin was in a hospital at the time of his mother's death, unable to come. Mrs. Dovie McCoy of Fordyce preached the funeral at Ellisville School House Friday afternoon. Mrs. Turner was buried in the Watson cemetery. The bereaved family have our deepest sympathy. (Camden News - February 11, 1936)
