Dorothy Jane Sloan Nowlin, 82, of Hampton died Tuesday July 8, 2008 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. Born January 11, 1926 at Harrell, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha Faulkner Sloan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hayes Nowlin; one daughter, Priscilla Elaine Nowlin; one sister, Anna Lou Gilbert; one brother, Jim Sloan; and one grandchild, Kenny Nowlin. She is survive by two sons, Terry Nowlin of El Dorado, Gary Nowlin of Bedford, TX; three daughters, Linda Jones and her husband, Kenneth of Hampton, Nancy Nowlin of Minden, LA, Robin Parker and her husband, Jim Mack of Bryant; two brothers, Leroy Sloan of Austin, TX, George Sloan of Garland, TX; one sister, Sally Sprenger of Little Rock; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Means Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Smith officiating. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Hampton.
