Lyda May Wilson, 89, of Russellville, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Arkansas Hospice.Mrs. Wilson was born March 6, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Orion and Lyda Mildred Buzzard Fry.
Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Russellville. She retired from Con-Agra Foods after 25 years as a Quality Control Inspector.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lawrence Wilson.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Elaine Wilson of Russellville, and Janice Wilson Homola of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two sisters, Mildred Fry Geraci Rogers of Montrose, Alabama, and Joyce Fry Bryant of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Lawrence Wilson Homola and Antonina Marie "Toni" Homola; and many nephews and nieces, including Mark Geraci and Victoria June Bryant.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Tyrone Williamson.
Burial will be in Appleton Cemetery at Appleton, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers include J. T. Stevenson.
