James R. "Jim" Hays, 85, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The son of Clayton and Elbie Boland Hays, he was born June 19, 1921 in Appleton, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fay B. Spears, Tom Spears, and Carl Hays. He was a retiree of El Paso Natural Gas Company (El Paso, Texas) with 31 years of service as an accountant and systems analyst. He was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the Alaskan Aleutians and Pacific Theater.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church (El Paso,Texas) for 30 years serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and other capacities in the church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Russellville, Arkansas, for the last 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Cheek Hays of Russellville; one son, Bruce Hays of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Jill S. Hays of Russellville.
