Loyd Wenton "Pinky" Woods, 90, a resident of Russellville, entered into rest on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 16, 1919, at Appleton to Eunice Edward "Turk" and Cora Hicks Woods. He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Russellville and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Mary Katherine Woods, who died in 2009; two sisters, Bobbie Wright and Billie Wilson; a niece, Carol Lopez; and a nephew, Larry Wilson.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Terry and Barbara Woods of LaQuinta, Calif., and David and Debbie Woods of Lexington, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, James Merle and Reba Woods of Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Frank Wright of Livermore, Calif., and Donnie Wood of Russellville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Neugebauer of Richmond, Calif.; five grandchildren, Shelby Renfeld, Michelle Gareis, Joshua Woods, Sarah Loveless and Matthew Gregory; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Noah Renfeld, Courtney and Nicholas Gareis, Gabrielle Loveless and Tyler Turner; nieces, Melody Turner and Cynthia Wright Sund; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Saint John's Lutheran Church at Russellville with the Rev. Darrell C. Kobs officiating. Burial will be private in the Appleton Cemetery at Appleton under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
