Robert Eugene Adkins, 61, of Walnut Ridge, died March 23, 2014, in Jonesboro. Born June 12, 1952, in Circleville, Ohio, he had lived in Texas before moving to Lawrence County in 1985.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruby Spillman Adkins; a brother, Jim Adkins; and two sisters, Shirley Conrad and Wilma Smith.

Survivors include a son, Tony Adkins and wife LeEllen, Supply; a daughter,
Shirley Heinzman, Walnut Ridge; and four grandchildren, Robert Ray, Joseph Hancock, Morgan Adkins and Dylan Adkins.

Graveside service with military honors is Thursday at 1 p.m. at Oak Forest Cemetery with Randy Pinkston officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge
of arrangements.
