KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jeff Seay Sanders, 83, of Kansas City died July 17, 2006, at Kansas City. He was born Aug. 28, 1922, in Hennessey, Okla., to the late George and Florence Shepard Sanders.
He was a longtime resident of Garfield. He was a retired insurance executive from Penn. Corp. Financial Inc. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 45th Infantry. He served on the boards of Williams College and California Baptist College, where he also served as interim president. He was active in the Gideon's International and was a member of First Baptist Church in Garfield.
Survivors include his wife, Maud Sanders of Kansas City; two sons, Jeff Sanders Jr. and wife Judy of Rogers, Benjamin Sanders and wife Kay of College Station, Texas; two daughters, Susanne Hill and husband Pete of Kansas City and Rosemary Bosma and husband Larry of Leona Valley, Calif.; one brother, Stanley Sanders; two sisters, Evelyn Sanders and Elizabeth Sanders; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Garfield. Burial will be in Ruddick Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Whitney Mountain Chapel.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Maud Houseworth Sanders died March 25, 2011, in Kansas City, Mo., after living a full and rich life of 85 years. Maud was born June 13, 1925 in Caddo County, Okla., to Harry Houseworth and Edna Bess English.
After high school graduation, Maud attended and graduated from Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Oklahoma City, Okla. While traveling to Woodward, Okla., for clinicals, Maud met her husband of life, Jeff Seay Sanders. He was the bus driver. As repeated trips were made, a friendship and love developed. Maud and Jeff were married June 1, 1947, in Cement, Okla. They spent their lives together living in Oklahoma City, Shawnee Mission, Kan., Manchester, Mo., Encino, Calif., and finally retirement at Beaver Lake, Garfield, Ark. Maud lived her last 5 1/2 years of life with her oldest daughter in Kansas City, Mo. As well as a full-time homemaker, Maud worked intermittently as a registered nurse. She was a faithful and active church member, teaching, singing in the choir and quietly fulfilling the needs of others.
Both Maud and Jeff were active with Gideon's International, holding various positions of leadership. Maud also worked as a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Rogers. She never backed off from a challenge, and rarely said, "I can't."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jeff Seay Sanders; her parents, Harry and Bess Houseworth; and sisters, Virginia Jones, Lulu Mae Prout and Nell Kochanski.
Maud has one surviving sibling, Wiliam Harry Houseworth (Marjorie) of Irving, Texas, and Garfield, Ark. She is survived by her children, Susanne Hill (Pete) of Kansas City, Mo., Jeff Seay Sanders Jr., Rogers, Ark., Benjamin Sanders (Kay), College Station, Texas, and Rosemary Bosma (Larry), Leona Valley, Calif.
Maud has 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011, at Whitney Mountain Chapel, and burial at Reddick Cemetery, under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be made to Gideon's International.
