Larry Gene Grimes, 68, of Guy, passed away November 28, 2011. He was born in Conway on July 1, 1943 to the late James Vernie and Floy (Montgomery) Grimes.

Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James (Jay) Grimes, and sister Iva Lea Grimes Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann (Battles) Grimes; his son Barry Grimes (Susan), daughter Amanda Grimes Passmore (George), and son Darby Grimes (Wendy), all of Guy; grandchildren, Samantha Passmore, Suzanne Mask (T.J.), T.J. Fletcher, Olivia, Lillian, and John Darby Grimes, all of Guy; great grandson Aidyn Mask of Guy; brothers Charles Grimes (Peggy) of Rector, Bud Grimes (Pid) of Conway, and Don Grimes (Paulette) of Piggott; sisters, Anna Dean Glover (Jr.) of Guy, and Sue Dawson (Delbert) of Mayflower; and a host of extended family and friends.

Larry loved the Lord and was a charter member and deacon of Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy.

He served in the Army National Guard. As for a vocation, he was best known for his work in the insulation and suspended ceiling business, but was a general contractor and fixer of many things.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family, traveling, and watching horse races. He tried to make sure that everyone around him was as happy as they could be. He also loved music and was a songwriter.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy, with Bro. Gary Burdin and Bro. Ed Stephenson officating. Burial will follow in Copperas Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.
