Eric Rodney Thomas Olson, 28, of Guy passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007. Born in Conway, AR on June 22, 1979, he was the son of Richard and Sandra (Cheney) Olson of Greenbrier. Eric was a loving husband and father who always put his family first. He was a 1997 graduate of Greenbrier High School, where he played trumpet in the band. He wrote poetry, played guitar and loved to play video games and watch wrestling with his children. Eric worked for Arkansas Electric Co-op.
He is survived by his loving wife of six years, Melody (Humphrey) Olson; his children Alexandria, Braden and Breana; his parents; his mother-in-law Joyce Pate; his fathers –in-law: Charlie Pate and Richard Humphrey; grandparents: Thomas and Patricia Cheney of Greenbrier, Rodney and Majorie Olson of Colorado Springs, CO and Jean Humphrey of Guy; a brother Christopher Olson and wife Letitia of Conway and; a sister Jennifer Olson of Greenbrier; his uncles, Randy Cheney of Greenbrier and Michael Cheney of Bend, OR ; his aunts: Mary Heifner of Colorado Springs, CO and Kathy Nichols of Greenbrier, and numerous cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, in Greenbrier, on Saturday, December 8, at 3:00 pm. Interment to follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy with Jason Cheney, Christopher Olson, Cheney Turman, Chris Humphrey, Andrew Humphrey and Leroy Davis carrying him to his final rest. Family visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
