Guy Griffith Smith, Jr., 71, of Guy, Arkansas, died Thursday, November 1, 2007. Born in Clinton, South Carolina, on May 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Guy Griffith Smith, Sr. and Annie (Turner) Smith. Guy retired from Pan American Airlines, where he worked as a customer service supervisor for over 32 years. After retirement he enjoyed watching all types of sports, but especially football.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Nancy (Dauterman) Smith.

Survivors include his son Guy G. Smith, III, his daughter Gwen Hooten and husband Greg, a grandson Brian Griffith Hooten, two granddaughters, Nicole Kaytlyn and Anna Jane Hooten all of Guy; two sisters: Mrs. Pete (Betty) Blackmon of Sumter, SC and Mrs. Jimmy (Annette) Cagle of Clinton, SC.; two brothers-in-law: Ray Dauterman of Maumelle, and David Dauterman of Ohio, two sisters-in-law: Denise Maye, and Rita O’Brien both of Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 4, at Guy Church of Christ with Clark Hooten officiating. Interment will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy, under the direction of Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Pallbearers are Guy Smith, III, Greg Hooten, Brian Hooten, and Ray Dauterman. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Cagle and Nick Hooten. On line guest book: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com
