Alma Leona Crotts Stephens of Brockwell, Arkansas

Alma Leona Crotts Stephens, daughter of the late Ruffin Oscar Crotts and Bertha Sexton Crotts, was born July 19, 1917 in Sevrey, Kansas. She departed this life September 11, 2015 in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 98 years, 1 month and 23 days. She was united in marriage to Raymond Lee Stephens February 10, 1937 in Elizabeth, Arkansas and to this union seven children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law: J. R. Stephens of Seattle, Washington, Richard Stephens of Strawberry, Arkansas and Jim and Sara Stephens of Brockwell; three daughters and one son-in-law: Lanetta Taylor of Viola, Joyce Russell of Haskell, Arkansas and Janet and Walter Cole of Bauxite, Arkansas; one brother: Thurman Crotts and wife Minnie of Melbourne; 26 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; 2 great, great, great, grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years: Raymond Stephens; one son: David Stephens; three brothers: Alfred Crotts, Ival Crotts and Ed Crotts; two sisters: Eva James and Thelma Schultz and two grandchildren: Tony Robbins and Michael Aguirre.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside funeral service will be Monday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Mike Yeats officiating.

Pallbearers: Bobby Russell, Justin Russell, Nicky Robbins, Jeff Robbins, J. R. Stephens and Jim Stephens

Honorary Pallbearers: Randy Robbins and Bradley Robbins.
