ROGERS — Richard Roger Plaisance was born May 13, 1941, in Faribault, Minn., to Charles and Lorraine Plaisance. He died Oct. 27, 2007, in Rogers.

Richard grew up in southern Minnesota, graduating from Bethlehem Academy Catholic School in Fairbault, Minn., in 1959. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. He married JoAnn Smisek on May 20, 1961, and later graduated from Mankato State University. Richard and JoAnn have owned and operated All-Weather Heating and Air Conditioning in Rogers since 1979. He was active in the community throughout the years in many civic organizations as well as a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine, and a brother, Douglas.

He is survived by his father, Charles, of Faribault; his wife, JoAnn, of the home; daughters, Denise Pirrozi (and Mark) of St. Louis, Renee Plaisance of Rogers, Sara White (and Walter) of Rogers; and a son, Steven Plaisance (and Katy) of Tulsa, Okla. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Victoria White of Rogers, Steven II, Matthew, and Andrew Plaisance of Tulsa, Sam and Isabella Pirozzi of St. Louis, Dylan Hammons of Rogers; and six brothers and sisters, Sandy Yule, Cynthia Cake (and Bruce), Cheryl Moreau, Debbie Perron (and Dave), Gary Plaisance (and Pam), and Scott Plaisance (and Trish), all of Minnesota.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday with a rosary being held at 7 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Catholic Charities of Arkansas, P.O. Box 7565, Little Rock, 72217 or the American Cancer Society.
