BENTONVILLE — Lawrence P. Bolte, 87, of Bentonville, Ark., died June 11, 2011. Larry was born April 21, 1924, in Eagle River, Wis., the son of Thomas and Alma Bolte.

Larry served in the U.S. Navy where he was a motor machinist's mate, third class, during World War II from 1942 to 1946. Following his military service, Larry worked for Killoren Co. as a lineman, foreman and contractor. In 1981, Larry established Killoren Company of Arkansas Inc. with his wife, Helen, and brother, Don. He managed this company until he retired in 2004.

Larry was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Rogers from 1950 to 2005. He then became a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church of Bentonville from 2006 to 2011. Larry was bestowed the honor of the Knights of St. Gregory of the Roman Catholic Church.

Larry was appointed as a board member of the Bentonville Citizens Bank. He was a charter member of the Rogers-Bentonville Elks Lodge #2144. In appreciation for outstanding devotion and assistance to his wife Helen's sorority. Larry was a Beta Sigma Phi envoy membership. Larry generously supported the Elks National Foundation. Horses for Healing and Mercy Health Center.

His hobbies and interests included gardening, dancing, watching sports and working with horses. His compassionate spirit for volunteering, visiting the sick and generous giving will be dearly missed by family, friends and loved ones.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Betty Bolte of Fayetteville, Ark.; son, Lawrence Handley of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and special friend and companion, Sammie Evans of Rogers, Ark. He has four grandchildren, Michael Handley, Alessa Quane, Nathan Handley and Hope Clark. Larry has seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Greer, Isabella, Corinne, Arabella, Kelsey and Steven.

Larry is also survived by sisters, Darlene Cady and Dorothy Treml; and brothers, Arthur, Don, Edward, Eugene and Robert.

Larry Rolle was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Alma Bolte; wife, Helen; daughters, Gloria and Corinne; his brother, Jim; and sisters, Marie, Loraine, Marion, Rose and Fran.

Memorials may made to Horses for Heating Equine-Assisted Activities Program for Children with Special Needs in NW Arkansas; or Mercy Medical Center.

Visitation will be at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers, Ark., on Thursday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The internment will be following the mass at the Catholic Cemetery in Rogers, Ark.
