Roger Dean Battles, 41, of Guy, AR, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 2, 2008.

Born December 26, 1966, in Conway, he was a longtime employee of Tokusen’s USA Inc., and recently working in the oil field industry as a heavy machine operator. He was owner of Battles Horse Tack and Supplies in Quitman to support his love of horses. Roger loved to hunt, although he hasn’t hunted much lately, and has several deer and turkey mountings to boast of his sportsmanship. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Guy.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Battles; sons, Sean Battles of Conway and Jacob Battles of the home; his parents, Dean and Virginia (Todd) Battles of Quitman; a brother, Ricky Battles and wife Melody of Greenbrier; two half sisters, Karon Reeb and husband Alan of Texas, Kathleen Denise Luevano of New Mexico; two nieces, two nephews, two great-nieces, numerous family members and friends and his special “Little Sweetie” Jaylin Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Cleo Battles and Helen and Otis Todd.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Bro. Gaylon King officiating. Interment will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Pallbearers will be Keith Hawkins, Brad Cooper, Brian Davis, Kenny Barker, Carthel Pearce, and Monty Fortner.
