James M. Riggs died Monday, November 23d, at his home at No. 122 North Fourth Street. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church at Springdale where the deceased lived before coming to Rogers and the sermon was preached by Rev. J.T. Willcoxon of Rogers. Burial was in the Bluff Cemetery at Springdale. Mr. Riggs was 70 years old in September and was born in Montgomery City, Mo. He was married December 27, 1882 to Miss Anna Etta Smith and their early married life was spent in Vandalia, Mo. Mr. Riggs is survived by his wife and six sons: R.E. Riggs, Pocahontas, Ark.; H.S. Riggs, Wellington, Texas; and W.R. Riggs, C.S. Riggs, J.B. Riggs and G.M. Riggs, all of Rogers.
