Stella Opal Grice, of Hector, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 26, 2004. She was 92 years old. She was born October 9, 1912, in Seymour, Texas, and lived in Texas for 52 years before moving to Hector, Arkansas in 1964. She retired at the age of 63 from the Pope County Health Department in Russellville, Arkansas. She attended First Assembly of God church in Hector for 40 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher, church organist, and held ladies' and youth Bible studies in her home. She was her family's prayer warrior all her life. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Horace Alexander Grice, parents, B F and Mattie Young Malone, brothers, Cecil, Ernest and Barney Malone, and sisters Edith Hendrix and Pearl Sauls. She is survived by sister, Marie Grice, of Gresham, Oregon, daughters, Donna Grice, Peggy Grice Carruth and husband, Alvin Carruth, all of Hector. Here also to hold her memory forever in their hearts are grandchildren, A L "Buzz" Carruth, wife, Catherine, of Arlington Texas, Mike Carruth, wife, Dena, of Rockwall, Texas, Sue Carruth Langford, husband, Jack, of Millington, Tennessee, and Stella "Dee" Carruth Tharp, husband, Jeff, of Russellville, Arkansas and forever to be known as "Gram" to 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandsons.
Private interment will be held at Cross Roads Cemetery, Hector, Arkansas. A Memorial Service will be held at Hector First Assembly of God, December 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a time of visitation with the family in the fellowship hall. Arrangements made by Shinn Funeral Service
