Leslie Mar Vance, Jr., 67, of Guy, departed this life to return to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Leslie Mar and Noble Lorena (Brady) Vance, Sr.

He graduated from Little Rock Tech High in 1965. After graduation he served in the Navy on the USS Constellation and USS Kitty Hawk. He received several service awards while in the Navy serving his country. He was awarded: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (w/3 bronze stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. He was a retired salesman and a charter member of Copperas Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Gentry) Vance; five children: Keith Vance (Kim), Kristy (Vance) Roberts, Lisa Hansen (Troy), Cheryl Stork (Kevin), Michael Schraer (Chris); 16 grandchildren: Brooke Vance, Blake Vance, Katelynn Mandelski, Kensington Vance, Kale Vance, Noah Roberts, Caina Roberts, Gideon Roberts, Steven Schraer, Brittni Hansen, Cory Schraer, Amanda Crider, Stephanie Stork, Bradley Stork, Cody Schraer, Cortnee Schraer; four great-grandchildren: Alexia, Nathan, Grace, and Abigail Leslie Nicole; One sister: Sandra E. Thorn (Melvin); One brother: William D. Vance (Glenda), a brother-in-law: Gene Cunningham, and 12 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Noble Brady Vance Sr., his grandparents, E.L. and Hattie Brady, and a niece Tanya Rena Thorn.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Copperas Springs Cemetery, with Bro. Gary Burdin and Dustin Burdin officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are: Charlie Alexander, Alan Carmichael, Sammie Collums, Dudley Henry, Jerry Glover, Tommy Battles, Glen Stevenson, and Bobby Jones.
