Freda G. Wiedower, 77, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Thursday, May 28th in Conway. She was born July 19, 1931 in Guy, to Joseph Steve and Edna Fielder Glover, the youngest child of 13 to survive to adulthood. Freda was a lifelong resident of Faulkner County.

A homemaker, Freda was devoted to her family. As the mother of four sons, she spent countless hours at ballparks and swim meets and never wavered in her support of their endeavors. Freda was renowned for her delicious desserts and especially enjoyed family cookouts and celebrations. “Nanny” loved her grandchildren unconditionally. As a lifelong Christian, Freda loved Jesus, her church, Central Baptist, and her church family, and was grateful for the strength and support they provided during her lengthy illness.

Freda is survived by her husband, James H. Wiedower, Jr., who was the love of her life and her life partner for 60 years, and by her sons and their families, William and Julie Wiedower of Little Rock and their daughters, Elizabeth Wiedower, Helena, AR and Jennifer Wiedower, Charleston, SC; Dr. James S. and Rebekah Wiedower of Winchester, VA and their children, John Wiedower, Washington D.C., Reed Wiedower, Washington D.C., and Rosalynn Wiedower, Winchester, VA; Dr. Richard L. Wiedower of Conway and his children, Janssen and Madison, Conway; and David E. and Kimberly Wiedower of Conway, and their children, Buddy Williams and Rachel Williams.

Predeceased by her parents and nine of her siblings, Freda is also survived by her brother J.W. “Dub” Glover, two sisters who were her best friends for life, Haligene Elzey and Theda Maulden and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Reba and Buddy Lawrence, Floyd and Betty Wiedower, Dot Glover and Ben and Donna Wiedower and each of their families. She loved them all.

The family wants to thank the staff at Heritage Living Center, especially Debbie and Tina, for the loving care Freda received during her illness.
