Versa Marie Scritchfield Mahan, 88 of Damascus, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 17, 2010. She was born February 8, 1922 in New Home, Arkansas to the late Calvin Scritchfield and Josie Gooden Scritchfield. She was a homemaker, member of the Guy Church of Christ and the widow of Jennings “Slater” Mahan who passed away August 24, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Page of Searcy, two sons, David Mahan and Dennie Mahan both of Damascus, five grandchildren, Darbie Bencowe and her husband Paul of Conway, Timothy Allen Mahan of Damascus, Trey Page of Los Angeles, CA, Rigel Page and wife Lana of Searcy and Joe Belote and wife Kari of Ada, MI, and five great grandchildren, Nicole Fairchild, Lana and Hayden Page, Kyle and Ellary Belote.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lourene Fowler, Anna Mae Harrington and Leona Crafton and five brothers, Homer, Dennis, Jeff, Clarence and Fred Scritchfield.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with burial in Copperas Springs Cemetery with Dan Newsome officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care of Conway.
