Loyd E. Baker, 89 of Morrilton, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011. Born in Mt. Vernon, AR, on October 1, 1922, he was a son to the late Joseph M. and Lytha E. Fulmer Baker. Mr. Baker retired from American Transportation formerly Wards Bus Manufacturing. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Mae Webb Baker, his second wife Josephine Baker; two sisters; eight brothers and a special friend Nellie Sullivan.
Those left to mourn his passing are his children: Roy Baker and wife Mary Beth and Elizabeth Beavers and husband Garry, all of Little Rock; two grandchildren: Dorinda Cowan and husband Chris and Jennifer Stone and husband Mark; great grandchildren: John Bartley (Mariah), Donavyn Cowan and Peyton Roushia and one great great-grandchild Dante Bartley.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 14 at Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy with Bro. Cecil Burgess and Bro. Gary Burdin officiating. Interment will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held on the date of the service from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.
Memorials may be made to Copperas Springs Baptist Church.
